‘Dushi’, is a word used in Curaçao, one of the Dutch Caribbean islands, with many different meanings and one of them is ‘delightful’. This is what we wanted to achieve with renovating and modernising the bungalow and to give it some soul. ‘Dushi’ is a newly renovated bungalow set in the breathtaking Norfolk village, Brancaster Staithe. The bungalow has got a spacious kitchen/living/dining area with a wood burning stove, modern kitchen with large cooker and dishwasher, dining table, ample seating and a television. There are 3 double bedrooms, one of them being an en-suite with a shower and toilet. The bunk room with 2 bunk beds (sleeping 4 plus there are 2 extra beds on trundles if needed) has got a large roof light where you can see the stars on a clear night! The main bathroom has got a bath, large shower and a toilet. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Linen and towels are provided and cleaning after your departure is included in your stay.
We are dog friendly on prior arrangement and there are many local beaches where dogs are allowed to run around off the lead even during the summer months.
We don't want to keep all this just for ourselves and would like more people to enjoy and explore the experience.
The house is set in a lovely quiet road parallel to the coastal road. There is ample private off street parking at the front to park 3-4 cars and/or a boat. Additional off street parking is available as well. The back garden is fenced all the way around and overlooks the coastal road and there is a sneaky view of the salt marshes and the sea! There is a large outdoor table with seating outside with a barbecue to enjoy some great outdoor meals. There is also a dog kennel for our four legged friends.
Brancaster Staithe delivers all you need, we are only a 3 mile drive from Brancaster Beach, ample walking for miles on the coastal path which is right on the doorstep (running 47 miles along the North Norfolk Coast). Two charming pubs (The Jolly Sailor, The White Horse) are within a short walking distance (and many more only a short drive/longer walk away). There is a sailing club, a harbour, Barrow Common Nature Reserve, a fishmonger and so much more. A supermarket and fuel station are only a couple of minutes walking away. The area has got lovely villages, places and other beaches nearby to explore, like Burnham Market, Holkham, Wells, Blakeney and Hunstanton.
Ask the owner, Marieke Skelton a question...
Don't forget to mention Glaven Valley when calling.
