Gillie is a beautiful fisherman’s cottage in the picturesque Blakeney village on the North Norfolk coast. Perfect at any time of year, Gillie is an elegant flint-faced cottage, situated in the closest loke to the Quay; it is ideal for couples, friends or a small family seeking a coastal escape.

This charming cottage has been beautifully presented, it champions a timeless and relaxed ‘country house’ style. With oodles of character, it is a real ‘home from home’ in a wonderful location, close by to the delicatessen and bakery with a wonderfully private, courtyard, gated garden.

From the garden entrance, you walk into the bespoke cottage kitchen, with its slate tiled floor and heritage colours it radiates country kitchen charm. You will find a hob, oven, fridge, small freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, and a Nespresso coffee machine too. The cupboards are well stocked with Emma Bridgewater pottery, glassware, and lots of pans and utensils.

The sitting room is delightful, the seating area is arranged around a fireplace, with a romantic wood burning stove and two linen sofas for relaxation. With an antique dining table seating four there is everything that you could need. Indoor entertainment is provided with a 43” Smart TV with Free Sat and a dvd blue ray player. There is a Pure Evoke compact music system to stream songs wirelessly through Bluetooth and you can also enjoy the CD library of listening books and music as well as film dvd’s.

The sitting room and kitchen both have stable doors which open directly onto the courtyard garden for the spring and summer months with outdoor sofa, chairs, and a bistro table.

The English country style continues upstairs, along the hallway is a large king size bedroom with a traditional bedstead, fitted wardrobe and dressing table, decorated in Kate Forman fabrics. The double bedroom is a similar style with Kate Forman’s romantic red rose’s fabric as the theme. Hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms. The charming children’s bunk bedroom decorated with a striking Kate Forman red ticking fabric, is just perfect for the youngsters.

An advantage of Gillie are the two bathrooms; upstairs there is a shower room with a large walk-in shower, washstand and wc. Downstairs there is a well fitted shower room with washbasin, wc.

Gillie Cottage is a real treasure, a perfect retreat for couples, friends, and small families, with three bedrooms, the bunk room being loved by children. A superb location so close to the historic quay, a private garden and beautiful interiors.

There is a private parking space in the Harbour Rooms car park, which is approx., 300 meters. Useful in high season.
The car park at the Quay is just a few moments and is free to National Trust members.

The private walled courtyard garden is rare in old Blakeney village, Gillie is a real gem with its very private ambiance and outdoor space. And with the stable doors opening onto the courtyard from the kitchen and lounge, in the Spring and Summer, there is a lovely outdoor, Mediterranean 'vibe'. There's an outdoor garden sofa, table with lounging chairs as well as a bistro table. For the walkers there is an exterior hosepipe.

Surrounding Area

Blakeney is an all year-round holiday destination, popular with walkers, bird watchers and sailors. Families with young children can enjoy a spot of crabbing from the quay, take a boat trip out to Blakeney Point to see the seals, and explore the coastal path, marshes and nature reserves close by. If you want to leave the car behind for the day, just take the Coasthopper bus which regularly passes through the village - it will take you to all the coastal villages from Hunstanton to Cromer.

Blakeney is famous for having everything in a timeless old fashioned way. Beautiful quay with walks across the marshes or just along the quay front. Wonderful restaurants, cafes and quaint shops.

Holt is on the doorstep and many more wonderful places to drop into...too many to mention!
