Bakery Cottage in Blakeney

Blakeney, Norfolk

Description

It's a comfortable, relaxed and simple place to stay, is dog-friendly and perfect for an affordable getaway in one of Norfolk's most popular villages. It is a long term family cottage so is quirky and eclectic. If you want the same old matching IKEA crockery, cutlery and glassware, this is probably not the cottage for you!

The living room is a double-height beamed ceiling with porthole window, and a wood-burning stove fireplace. It has two comfy sofas and a sofa bed for extra guests.

The kitchen is light and airy and suitably equipped with fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and a long wooden table below the windows perfect for family meals.

The bathroom is 'compact and bijou', basic but fully functional with a bath and shower.

Bedroom 1 is a double. Bedroom 2 (which you have to walk through Bedroom 1 to get to) can be made up as either a twin or a king-size double bed according to guests preference.

Sleeping Arrangements

The cottage is in a linear arrangement with a large high-ceilinged living room at one end, a walk through kitchen, a bathroom in the middle then two bedrooms. N.B. you must walk through one bedroom to get to the other. There is a click-clack sofa bed in the living room which provides additional sleeping for 5th/6th persons.

Outside Property

Shared courtyard with off-street parking (invaluable in Blakeney!) with small terrace and outside table, and wooden bench which is perfect for sitting out on in peace and tranquility on a summer's day or with drinks in the evening.

Surrounding Area

Blakeney is a perfect base for all sorts of Norfolk adventures. There are two great pubs in the village, The White Horse is a slightly more upmarket gastro-pub, the Kings Head a more traditional pub-grub boozer. The Blakeney Hotel does a fine afternoon tea or a cocktail.

There are all the amenities you might need, a small grocery Spar, a fresh fish shop, a coffee shop and the Two Magpies Bakery on the quayside as well as excellent food caravans.

There are a myriad of local walks, out along the sea wall to Cley, inland to Glandford, along the coast to Morston. The owners of Bakery Cottage have spent 50 years holidaying here and are a treasure trove of local tips and suggestions - just ask!
