Heron cottage is part of a 17th century barn conversion that has been lovingly renovated and decorated by its new owners to cater for all guests - a fabulous gateway to North Norfolk set in the idyllic village of Thornham.
Heron Cottage is particularly well suited to young families. The back garden is the largest at Manor Farm, fully gated with BBQ and backing on to a children’s play area (fully visible from the living room through the sliding French doors). The play area sits within a larger fully maintained communal field. At the back of the field is the increasingly popular Thornham Deli along with a larger kids’ play area, tennis court, village hall, and cricket pitch. The cottage itself is well equipped with FREE WIFI, TV, DVD player and a number of indoor and outdoor games to help keep the kids entertained.
Outside of school holidays, Heron Cottage is a fabulous holiday destination all year round. The surrounding scenery is simply breath-taking through the seasons with numerous walks, nature trails (including the famous Peddars Way National Trail) and dedicated bird-watching sites within easy reach. The beautifully rugged North Norfolk coastline is less than 10 minutes walk away and at night stargazing is an experience not to be missed.
Fine dining is also instantly accessible with the famous Orange Tree Pub (Norfolk Dining Pub of the Year 2013 - 2018) less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage and the equally reputable Lifeboat Inn less than 10 minutes away. Towards the adjacent village of Holme-next-the-Sea, is the excellent Eric’s Fish & Chips eatery and the White Horse pub with fantastic garden and Sunday Lunch!
Inside the cottage downstairs is an open plan kitchen into living room/dining area with a wood-burner and cloakroom with toilet and shower. Kitchen facilities include a microwave, fridge freezer and a 2 door oven with 5 electric hobs. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, a twin room, a single room with truckle bed and a family bathroom with a NEWLY INSTALLED SHOWER FACILITY. Although the cottage does sleep 8 people, we suggest 7 is the maximum number of adults to maintain a high degree of comfort from the cottage.
We fell in love with North Norfolk the second we arrived in Thornham. Whether you are new to the area or have been many times before, we hope a stay at Heron cottage will make you fall in love with North Norfolk like we did, or love it just that little bit more.
Love Caroline & Rob.
Heron Cottage has its own private garden, but it also backs onto a large communal playing field with a children's play area (visable from inside the Cottage) and a pitch and putt course.
There is one space directly outside the Cottage and plenty of parking on the farm on site.
