1 en-suite master bedroom, 1 double and 2 twin rooms
Hawthorns offers spacious accommodation on two levels, flooded with natural light and far reaching views across open fields towards Blakeney, the sea and the garden.
On the ground floor is the open-plan living and dining area with large windows and french doors and a very well-equipped kitchen with microwave, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and full size fridge/freezer. Wi-fi is provided.
French windows from the kitchen area open to access the patio
There are 4 good size double bedrooms. On the ground floor is a large room with double-bed, and two rooms with twin beds; a shower room with walk-in shower, basin and toilet and also a bathroom with full-size bath. Beds are made up with 100% white, high quality cotton bed linen and bath and hand towels are also supplied.
On the first floor is a master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and views towards the coast through French doors. Upstairs there is also a bright mezzanine sitting room which offers a quiet retreat from the bustle of the open plan living/kitchen area downstairs. An i-Pod dock, television and CD player/radio are provided.
Full oil-central heating keeps the cottage cosy and also gives a constant supply of hot water. A strict No Smoking policy applies. Well-behaved dogs welcome.
For children, a stair-gate is fixed at the bottom of the stairs to prevent accidents; a high-chair and travel cot are also provided.
A west facing verandah runs along the front of the cottage, perfect for evening drinks whilst watching the sun go down or a dry place for afternoon tea if it is raining. The garden has a large lawn and is enclosed (and should be dog-proof) and has a patio with teak table, 8 chairs and BBQ, lawn and private parking for up to 4 cars in own drive. A garden side-gate leads out onto the path that either takes you down to the saltings or in the other direction to the village.
Set within its own large garden, Hawthorns is located only 100m from the oak woods that separate the land from the saltings and yet is also within easy walking distance of the pretty flint village of Stiffkey. The village has a village pub, serving local ales and food (both child and dog friendly) and the village stores and post office. The latter serves fresh coffee and home-baked cakes amongst other things.
Hawthorns is perfectly located for those wishing to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty, so close to the saltings and yet within easy reach of the village. The Peddars Way (a long distance footpath, originally Roman, running for 49 miles along the coast) runs along the side of the saltings, and is a good choice for walks in either direction. The saltings themselves offer walks right out to sea as well as sandy beaches for paddling, swimming and walking on. There are no restrictions for dogs. This holiday cottage has its own website: http://www.hawthornsinfo.com
