2 double, 1 twin (main house) 1 double (annexe)
Retaining bags of character with Farrow and Ball paintwork, stripped wooden floors, squashy sofas and large comfortable beds, Railway Cottage is ideal for a family holiday with the additional accommodation provided by Platform 2. In the main house, a spacious hall leads to a sunny sitting room with comfy sofas, flat screen tv, dvd, and open fire. The family room stretching across the entire rear of the cottage is open plan, and incorporates the kitchen, dining and seating areas. With constant warmth from the Aga, this large room overlooking the courtyard, is probably where you'll spend the most time. The painted wooden kitchen centres around the Aga and a scrubbed pine dining table with ample room for eight. The space is great for cooking, eating or sitting around the log burner on the giant sofa or comfortable chairs. From here the laundry porch with washing machine and tumble drier leads to the rear courtyard and 'Platform 2' - the stylish cottage annexe with double bed, shower room/wc and sofa/ tv area. Upstairs in the main house there are two double bedrooms with king and super king iron beds, and a lovely light filled twin room, with toys and books for kids. Both the bathroom and the shower room have quality white fittings. All bed linen and towels are provided. Travel cot, stair gate and 2 high chairs tucked away in the main house.
The rear courtyard seating area leads to the rest of the rear garden with deck, lawn and lovely walled herb garden. Stripy deck chairs and bbq are kept in the garden shed and the log store is beneath the potting bench. Off road parking is possible for two cars at a push to the front on the drive - additional parking on roadside. Please note: there is a right of way for the occupants of one cottage across the rear courtyard only, not the main garden.
The North Norfolk Railway runs from Sheringham to Holt - Railway Cottage is a beautifully refurbished victorian terraced house a short walk from the NNR Poppy Line station in one direction and the bustling centre of Holt in the other. Take a trip through the 1940's on the steam train then catch the vintage London Routemaster back to Holt for afternoon tea at Byfords. The charming market town of Holt is the ideal central location for everything the North Norfolk Coast has to offer. Easy driving distance from family beaches at Cromer and Sheringham in one direction and Wells next-the-sea in the other. Take a walk along the cliffs at Weybourne or try your hand at rock pooling in West Runton. Go crabbing and sailing in Blakeney, seal spotting from Morston Quay or bird watching at Cley next-the-sea. Top it off with a spot of strawberry picking at Wiveton Hall farm and when you're exhausted from all that, stop off on your way home for dinner and a pint at the Kings Head in Letheringsett.
