Carpenters Cottage is a charming 250 year old, 2 bed holiday cottage located in the Georgian town of Holt in stunning North Norfolk.

The cottage is conveniently located near the centre of Holt, within easy walking distance of all the charming boutiques, art galleries, shops, cafes, pubs and fine restaurants, including our close neighbour the renowned Meadowsweet restaurant (booking essential!) With easy driving access to all of North Norfolk’s world class beaches we really have the best of all worlds.

The cottage is tucked away along a quiet loke and is ideal for couples or small families and benefits from having private off road parking (a rare thing in Holt!)

Surrounding Area

Holt appears in the 1086 Domesday Book and the history of the town is apparent to visitors who take the time to stroll through the town enjoying the mixture of the original architecture and the many gift and antique shops, cafés, restaurants and art galleries.

Holt has become a year-round location for visitors with the attraction of the North Coast for bird watching, walking or simply relaxing in the winter months.

In 2023 Holt was named 2nd on The Telegraph’s prettiest towns in Britain list and the same year also made The Time’s list of only 7 named in the UK’s prettiest Towns to Christmas shop.

The impressive Christmas lights are a major attraction for visitors in November and December creating a wonderful atmosphere for Christmas shopping.

Holt is central to a number of coastal villages, the most popular ones being Blakeney, Morston, Cley, Sheringham and Cromer. The beautiful and popular beaches of Wells Next-the-Sea and Holkham are also a relatively short drive away.

Holt Station runs regular steam and diesel trains which run from from Holt to Sheringham, a lovely step back in time.

Ferries to the National Trust Blakeney Point Seal Colony can be taken from Morston and Blakeney. Both of these villages offer good launching for power and sailing boats.

Other National Trust attractions include Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall and near-by is Sheringham Park, famous for it’s amazing display of Rhododendrons and Azaleas during the late Spring. It also has year-round wonderful views of the coast.
