Crowlands Cottage is an excellent quality 2 bed holiday cottage located in the Georgian town of Holt. The cottage is conveniently located in the centre of Holt, within easy walking distance of all local amenities. Holt in North Norfolk close to the popular coastal villages of Blakeney, Morston, Cley and Sheringham. The cottage is located away from the main road and is ideal for small families or couples.

The cottage benefits from having an enclosed gravelled courtyard to the front and an enclosed garden with a small patio to the rear.

The design is of traditional North Norfolk brick and flint; although as a relatively modern building it benefits from gas central heating, excellent insulation and double glazing and provides accommodation for up to 4 people with one double room and one twin room. The double room is equipped with a hair drier. The bathroom with ceramic tiled floor and shower over the bath is also on the first floor.

The horseshoe over the front door to Crowlands Cottage was excavated (near the front door) in 1998 when we purchased the property and made a trench for a pipe to supply gas to the fire in the lounge.

The cottage is named after the former owners of the site, the Crow Family, who, formerly, provided the horse drawn carriage “taxi” service for Holt and, more latterly, used petrol driven vehicles.

On the ground floor is the kitchen diner, with a circular pine table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob and oven, fridge, microwave oven, toaster, all pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, iron and ironing board. The lounge is equipped with a Smart TV and a CD radio stereo system. In the lounge the central heating is complimented with a gas “live coal” fire.

A pair of French doors lead from the lounge to a small but very private garden with patio and garden furniture, Safe off road parking is provided in the courtyard.

The cottages is non smoking and we regret no pets. We have unlimited wifi.

Surrounding Area

The historic, Georgian town of Holt is located in North Norfolk approximately 5 miles from the Norfolk coast.
Holt appears in the 1086 Domesday Book and the history of the town is apparent to visitors who take the time to stroll through the town enjoying the mixture of the original architecture and the many gift and antique shops, cafés, restaurants and art galleries.

Holt has become a year-round location for visitors with the attraction of the North Coast for bird watching, walking or simply relaxing in the winter months.

The impressive Christmas lights are also an attraction for visitors in December, providing an opportunity for Christmas shopping.

Holt is central to a number of coastal villages, the most popular ones being Blakeney, Morston, Cley, Sheringham and Cromer.

Ferries to the National Trust Blakeney Point Seal Colony can be taken from Morston and Blakeney. Both of these villages offer good launching for power and sailing boats.

Other National Trust attractions include Fellbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall and near-by is Sheringham Park, famous for it’s amazing display of Rhododendrons and Azaleas during the late Spring. It also has year-round wonderful views of the coast.
