Samphire Cottage underwent extensive renovation during 2004-2005 to create the unique barn styled building that it now is, with everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay.
N.B. All linen is provided apart from towels.
This light and airy hand-painted country style kitchen with black granite work surface, comes fully equipped with a range style cooker with 8 gas burner hobs, a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and all the equipment that you require to express your culinary talents.
The pine kitchen table comfortably seats 8 for those cosy family meals and round the table banter.
There are French doors at either end, so that breakfast may be taken on the east facing veranda while the sun rises and drinks may be taken on the west facing veranda whist watching the sunset over the field.
This room has 2 French doors that open onto the veranda, which subsequently leads to the garden. So sit back on one of the 2 large comfortable sofas and watch your children or dogs play safely in the garden. The wood burner is the centre piece of this room for those cosy nights in around the fire, The large LCD TV with freeview, DVD player and a selection of games for your entertainment.
All the bedrooms are furnished to provide that relaxed homely feel and sufficient storage for your belongings during your stay.
Double room. Ranch style double bed with French doors opening onto the west facing veranda. This is an ideal for visitors who have difficulty with stairs and is next to the ground floor bathroom.
Bunk bed room: A great room for children and adults alike. Its windows overlook the rear garden. (3” beds).
The Master Double: This spacious room that has French doors that open to far reaching views and a ranch style king size bed will make it hard for you to get up in the morning. A solid wooden cot is provided for infants and the room shares an ensuite with the twin room.
The Twin Bed Room: This has two ranch style single beds and is again an ideal room for either adults or children. (3” beds).
The Ensuite, which consists of a shower, toilet and basin, has been designed so that both upstairs bedrooms have direct access. The doors from both rooms are custom made fire doors, which are incredibly thick therefore providing absolute privacy. This layout also means that parents with children sleeping in the twin bed room may leave the doors between the rooms open if there are desired.
Downstairs Bathroom: This consists of a bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin.
*Oil fired central heating - The combination boiler provides hot water upon demand.

The garden is of a good size, and completely enclosed with fencing, and hedging in parts. Ideal for games with the children or dogs. There is outside seating and BBQ, and of course that front and rear covered verandas in case it's too sunny or a little wet to be outside.
Samphire Cottage is a semi detached cottage and Its setting is truly unique, for you can't possibly stay any closer to the famous National Trust's Stiffkey Marshes than this, unless you were to be in a tent! It is about a minutes walk from the coastal path and a lovely ancient woodland walk which separates the land from the coastline and of course that famous marsh, sandy creeks and beaches beyond and, of course, a colony of seals a walk away.
It is set away from the normal tourist areas of the village providing a tranquil and restful holiday location.
The Stiffkey Village shop which is a haven of goodies including freshly baked bread and serves fresh coffee and The Red Lion Pub, (a free house with bundles of character with its old beams and brick floors which serves excellent food and local ale with its roaring open fires in winter and seasonal local seafood and turf amongst others) is just a short walk away.
