Changeover day is Saturday. Weekly bookings only between May and October. Weekend breaks and mid-week stays can be booked from November to Easter (excluding Christmas, New Year and February half term).

An arched doorway in the garden wall takes you into the fully enclosed garden. The front door opens into the spacious kitchen/diner with an AGA, stone flooring and exposed ceiling beams. Two comfy chairs by the window overlooking the duck pond and saltmarsh provide the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. Next door, the cosy sitting room has an inglenook and woodburner (logs are provided), and a large selection of books, dvds and games.

Upstairs, the master king-sized bedroom is spacious and light-filled and enjoys double-aspect views over both the garden and the saltmarsh. The second double bedroom also looks out towards the sea. The family bathroom has a roll-top bath (with views to the saltmarsh if you leave the bathroom door open!) and large walk-in shower. Glorious in summer and warm and cozy in the winter, Pit Cottage is the perfect holiday cottage whatever the season.

Outside Property

The south-facing garden, with well-stocked flower beds and lawn, is a delight. The patio is a sun-trap with plenty of seating and a gas BBQ - the perfect place to enjoy eating al-fresco. The garden leads up to the summerhouse and a deck with an outdoor sofa and chairs, a lovely place to sit in the evening with the candle lanterns lit. To the side of the cottage is a wash house with washing machine and tumble dryer. The private parking area at the front of the house will take three cars.

Surrounding Area

Pit Cottage is situated in Salthouse, part of the North Norfolk heritage coast (and on the Peddars Way & Norfolk Coastal Path), designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Directly across from the cottage is a duckpond, and Magic the Clydesdale usually hangs out there too. There are plenty of wonderful walks right from the doorstep, either along the coast or inland through the beautiful countryside.

Salthouse is well equipped with the renowned Dun Cow Pub, Cookies Crab Shop and The Old Post Office corner shop. The Coasthopper bus stop is only 30 yards away, so you can leave your car at home and go exploring. For bird enthusiasts, Salthouse itself is famous for its bird-watching marshes, and the cottage is less than two miles from NWT Cley Marshes, one of Norfolk's oldest and best known nature reserves.

The villages of North Norfolk offer many attractions - galleries, restaurants, shopping, antiques and arts and crafts. Salthouse is near the pretty Georgian market town of Holt, and Cley-on-Sea and Blakeney are only a short distance away.
