Scolt Cottage is ideal for couples or families. It has been furnished to a high standard retaining its cottage feel. It was renovated using ecologically sound principles, is well insulated with an air source heat pump providing underfloor heating throughout the property.

The ground floor has an airy open plan living /dining /kitchen. There is a log burner, table, chairs, leather sofa, coffee table, TV, wireless broadband and radio. The kitchen area is fully equipped, with a belfast sink and a range of cupboards and shelving. There is an electric built under oven and hob, slimline dishwasher, microwave and large fridge freezer. A separate laundry room is in the garden, it houses a washing machine and tumble dryer and has a belfast sink. The laundry room is ideal for leaving boots and outdoor coats.

A door from the kitchen leads into the rear entrance hall, back stable door and a staircase to the first floor landing, shower room and bedroom. The shower room has a wc and contemporary hand basin, heated towel rail and large shower cubicle. A bedroom is accessed from the landing, it has a king-sized bed, spacious wardrobe, TV with DVD and bedside cabinets.

From the landing a door opens onto a staircase leading directly into the second bedroom which is under the eves and has views of Overy Windmill. The room has 3 ft twin beds, a facility to hang clothes and a chest of drawers.


Weekly Breaks are usually Friday to Friday ( Saturday to Saturday in July and August).
Weekend Breaks are 3 nights, Fri, Sat, Sun (70% weekly rate)
Midweek Breaks are 4 nights, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur (80% weekly rate)
NB. Usually only bookings of a week or more are available during summer school holidays, but please enquire.

Outside Property

The stable back door of the cottage leads across a path to the gated and fully enclosed west facing lawned garden with summerhouse, patio, gas BBQ, garden table and outdoor chairs.

Parking is on road, there are no parking restrictions. The Coasthopper bus stop is nearby.

Surrounding Area

Burnham Overy Staithe is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy wonderful walks along the costal path and the vast expanses of sandy beaches. The cottage is named after the nature reserve at Scolt Head Island which is accessable by ferry from Burnham Overy Staithe in the summer months. The area is popular with walkers, bird watchers, sailors, and golf enthusiasts.

Scolt Cottage is only two minutes away from the harbour and village pub, the playing field which has tennis courts and a children's play area is nearby. The popular village of Burnham Market with its varied shopping experience is a mile away and the harbour town of Wells-next-the-sea is four miles along the coast road.
