Cosy Corner in Stanhoe
Stanhoe, Norfolk
Description
Cosy Corner is on a quiet village road in Stanhoe, about five miles inland from Brancaster on the North Norfolk coast.
The cottage is an ideal retreat - whatever the weather. There are squashy sofas and an open fire for the winter, a quiet garden and shady spots for the summer. We keep books and pictures there and the odd bottle of wine, so it's more like staying in a friend's house than in a soulless holiday home. Bring your buckets and spades, bikes and kites, there's space for them in the sun room, and if you love to walk the coastal path in winter then kick off your muddy boots there while you thaw out in front of a big log fire.
Features include
Good size kitchen with a double oven and halogen hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer
Washing machine and tumble dryer
Central heating throughout, plus an open fire in the sitting room with logs provided
Traditional Norfolk pamment tiled floors downstairs, fitted carpets upstairs
Downstairs shower room with a powerful shower, and a separate cloakroom
Sitting room with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV
Separate dining room
Sun room with secure storage, e.g. for bikes
Wireless broadband
Sleeping Arrangements
1 double and 1 twin room
Outside Property
Cosy Corner has private off-road parking for two cars and a sunny cottage garden, with a lawn for deckchairs or children's games. There’s lots of wildlife - the ducks from the pond opposite often visit with their ducklings in the spring. Garden birds visit and there’s a feeder for them so you can watch them from the cottage. We lost our venerable old cherry tree last year but have replaced with a silver birch, which we hope they will love just as much.
In the autumn you can sometimes hear the geese flying overhead on their way to or from the marshes where they roost.
Surrounding Area
It’s a 5-minute walk to the popular village pub and its store. There’s a children's playing field just along Cross Lane alongside a dog-walking field. Shops nearby are in Burnham Market or Docking.
The cross at the top of Cross Lane commemorates the pilgrims’ route to Walsingham. There’s more about the village history on the website Stanhoe.org
