Cromer, Norfolk

Description

"Recently refurbished cottage with parking. Perfect location in Cromer- yards from both the beach and the town."

Traditional-style cosy cottage on 3 storeys, with modern fittings and a recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom.

The cottage is best summed up by an amazing collection of reviews over the years, and here are some extracts from some recent ones:

Small, enclosed courtyard garden to the rear which is a real sun-trap in the morning with small outside table, chairs and a bench.. Small walled front garden which has sun for most of the afternoon and is a great spot to "people-watch" in the summer! Directly to the rear of the property is an allocated parking space. This is in a private and secure car park with barrier entry.

Surrounding Area

The Gangway is considered by many (including us and all our regulars) to be the best location in Cromer. We have a very short stroll down to the beach, and yet are also close to shops, restaurants and all the usual amenities. The famous Pier and its Theatre are a very short walk away.

At low tide, Cromer offers vast expanses of sandy beaches, although at low tide is pebbly. The closest beach is dog-free in the summer months and offers lifeguards and surfing. It is brilliant for children as they won't have to walk far (plus the loos will be close by at the Rocket House!), but the beaches a little further along towards Overstrand at low-tide are, for us, the highlight of Cromer. Perfect for dog walks and can be virtually deserted, even in summer! Cromer caters very well for dogs and many shops and restaurants allow them in.

There is plenty to occupy the children without breaking the bank and if they enjoy rock pooling, crabbing and seal-spotting then they will be in the right place! But with play parks, a skate park, golf, footgolf, tennis courts, boating lake, amusement arcades to name just a few, there is plenty to do. Venturing further afield opens up the wonderful North Norfolk countryside and coast and its pleasures which could include boat trips from Blakeney, exploring the heathland at Kelling, historic houses such as Felbrigg and Blickling, steam trains, Sheringham and the lovely market town of Holt. Our many regulars include family groups of all ages, couples, walkers, cyclists , golfers and birdwatchers.

Within a very short walk we have all the necessary amenities - greengrocers, fishmongers, butchers, bakeries and pubs, plus small in-town supermarkets. There are an array of cafes within walking distance, including two at the end of the road overlooking the sea and the wonderful "Gangway" right opposite the house. There are lots of other good eating/ coffee options nearby, including the Red Lion round the corner and several takeaway/ restaurants including Indian/ Thai/ Chinese, plus plenty of options for fish and chips or fresh crab for supper.
