The Runtons are part of AONB and are popular with bird watchers & walkers.
There are fabulous walks from the door, no car necessary.
East Runton village has White Horse Restaurant, Harrys sports bar, Wills Plaice (fish and chips), Coffee shop,
The Fishing Boat pub (a more traditional pub) and a village convenience store.
Cromer pier can be seen from East Runton beach and can be reached by walking 20 mins along the beach. It is also possible to walk into Cromer along the main road or the country route turning right out of Mill Haven following the railway line.
Cromer town centre has a good selection of shops restaurants and supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lidl, Co-Op.
Cromer also has a mainline station into Norwich.
It is possible to travel to Mill Haven by public transport.
The coast Hopper bus stops close to the station & drops by East Runton village stores. The bus runs towards Sheringham, Wells. Then in the opposite direction towards North Walsham & Norwich.
East Runton beach is a mixture of sand and pebble and is dog-friendly. It has won blue flag awards, also having public toilets and RNLI lifeguards on duty during the summer months.
The beach is popular for families with children looking for crabs in the rock pools as well as walkers who wish to explore the coastal paths.
This area of Norfolk is a good base to explore. There are a number of National Trust properties , bird watching areas and beautiful beaches such as Holkham, Wells-Next-Sea, Happisburgh.
The Norfolk broads are also around 30 mins by car so whilst the Runtons are central to north Norfolk they can be a good base to stay for those who wish to travel around and explore North Norfolk.
