Traditional style cosy cottage on 3 storeys, with modern fittings and a recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom.

Ground Floor: hallway, recently-refurbished kitchen at the front of the cottage (with electric oven, ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave) and sitting/ dining room to the rear. The lounge area has 2 sofas and an electric "woodburning stove" which is perfect for the chillier months! Dining table seats 6. TV with freeview and DVD player. Stairs lead up to small landing on next floor.
First Floor: stylish, recently-refurbished bathroom (please note there is just the one bathroom and wc in this property) with roll-top bath and separate shower to the front, double bedroom (king-sized bed) to the rear. Stairs lead up to small landing on second floor.
Second Floor: Bedroom at front with bunk beds, most suited to children. At the rear is another double bedroom.

Well-behaved and toilet-trained dogs are welcome so long as this is agreed in advance with the owner.
The property has full gas central heating and gets very warm, so is very cosy in the winter. Bed linen and towels are provided, as is WIFI.
Small, enclosed courtyard garden to the rear which is a real sun-trap in the morning, and where a small outside table, chairs and a bench are provided. There is also a small outside area with bench to the front of the property which has sun for most of the afternoon and is a great spot to "people-watch" in the summer! Plus directly to the rear of the property is an allocated parking space which is such a bonus! This is in a private and secure car park with barrier entry.
For us, the Gangway is the perfect location in Cromer. We have such a short stroll down to the beach, and yet are also close to shops, restaurants and all the usual amenities. We are on a hill, but for guests that may find it helpful, there is a lift to the rear of the Rocket House which can cut out the steepest part of the hill so make the beach more accessible.
It's great to have the beach just yards away, and in the summer, this has lifeguards and is brilliant for children as they won't have to walk far (plus the loos will be close by at the Rocket House!), but the beaches a little further along towards Overstrand at low-tide are, for us, the highlight of Cromer. Within a 10 minute walk the beaches can be virtually deserted, even in summer, and are fantastic for picnics, barbecues and long lazy beach afternoons (or a bracing winter walk!). Cromer is brilliant for dogs (in the summer there are restrictions on the beach closest to us so we just stick to the path until we get to the one further up) and most places are very dog-friendly.
We have some lovely walks nearby, and for those that are up to it, there is a lovely clifftop walk from the house to Overstrand which takes you past the lighthouse, a children's playpark and the golf course. Our children's favourite activities over the years have been crabbing off the pier, rock-pooling at low tide and seal spotting. Simple, tech-free pleasures!!
One of our Cromer highlights in the summer is breakfast at the Lifeboat Cafe at the bottom of The Gangway- the best sunny spot with wonderful views! We also have the lovely Rocket House Cafe on the Gangway too with its great terrace overlooking the sea. There are lots of other good eating options nearby, including the Red Lion round the corner and several takeaway/ restaurants including Indian/ Thai/ Chinese and of course plenty of options for fish and chips or fresh crab for supper! It's also worth walking to the great Rocky Bottoms restaurant in East Runton for some amazing seafood.
Around the corner we have all we need- the farm shop (great for local goodies, cheeses and good selection of wine), Dudley's bakery and the Red Lion pub. That just about covers all bases! There are also several supermarkets.
A short walk away from the cottage is the famous Pier with a lovely theatre which has some great productions suiting all age groups throughout the year. Also at the end of the pier is the lifeboat station (free entry). Other entertainment favourites with the children include the Henry Blogg museum at the bottom of the hill, the Cromer Museum, the amusement arcades and the fairground rides, all of which are within walking distance. For rainy days we have a fab little cinema which is a 3 minute walk away.
If you have transport then there are so many options available and for families there's a good Kart Track on the edge of Cromer, Amazona Zoo, the Splash Pool in Sheringham, horse-riding, fossil hunting (West Runton or Happisburgh best), crabbing, cycle hire, fairground rides, scooter-park, boating lake to name a few...
For country walks or a cycle ride, there are plenty of options locally, but we also love visiting Kelling Heath, near Weybourne (approx 20 mins by car)- acres and acres of beautiful heathland. We also love Felbrigg Hall which is a beautiful National Trust property just outside Cromer surrounded by lovely countryside perfect for walkers and cyclists. North Norfolk is obviously also one of the most attractive locations in the UK for birdwatching and many visitors are drawn to our region for that reason alone..
