Welcome to ROARR! - Where the Adventure Begins
The magic begins the moment you arrive at ROARR! We were kindly gifted a visit as a family, and it was clear that this was going to be a big day! With maps in hand and suncream applied, we headed off to explore the parks many zones, each offering a mix of excitement, learning and outdoor fun.
ROARR! Is brilliantly themed from start to finish, and you can feel the excitement build as you walk through the entrance – music plays, dino footprints line the paths, and everywhere you turn there is something to discover.
Start Your Engines at Dippy’s Raceway
Our adventure kicked off at Dippy’s Raceway, where the children couldn’t wait to jump behind the wheel of the electric vehicles and race around the mini circuit! With engines humming, they got very competitive - zooming around corners and trying to outpace each other! It was a brilliant way to set the tone for a day full of thrills!
Into the Wild: Valley of the Dinosaurs
Next, we travelled through Valley of the Dinosaurs - a winding woodland trail where life-sized dinosaurs lurk between the trees. A few caught us off guard as we wandered deeper into the greenery, where roars echo through the air and excitement built with every step!
The children loved spotting the huge animatronic dinosaurs hidden along the path - some moving, others roaring, all towering above us in stunning detail. We stopped often to read the info boards, which shared fascinating facts about each dinosaur and how they lived. It’s a peaceful walk, shaded and scenic, but with that classic ROARR! sense of adventure.
High Above the Trees: Predator High Ropes
At the end of Valley of the Dinosaurs, you will spot the High Ropes! If you’re ready to turn up the adventure dial, the Predator High Ropes course is a must. This isn’t just your typical treetop trail - it’s the world’s first parallel sky rails, where kids and grown-ups can climb, balance, and zip their way through the treetops together.
We were amazed at how confidently the children tackled the course, balancing on beams, crossing rope bridges, and then zooming down the zip wire finale. It’s a real test of bravery and balance, but the safety setup and staff guidance were excellent, which gave us all the confidence to give it a go. Honestly, the thrill of finishing that course left us buzzing for the rest of the day!
Animal Encounters at the Secret Animal Garden
We couldn’t have visited ROARR! without visiting the Secret Animal Garden. Here, we got up close with some of the farm’s friendliest residents - rabbits, goats, chickens, and our personal favourites: the tiny baby guinea pigs that had only been born a few days before! The children were completely charmed by the animals, especially the two pigs cheekily named Peppa and George - a hit with every young visitor for obvious reasons. It is a lovely way for children to connect with animals in a calm and caring environment.
Indoor Fun at Dinomite Indoor Adventure Play
When you need a bit of a break from the sun (or a backup plan for rainy days), the Dinomite Indoor Adventure Play is a lifesaver. This huge soft play zone offers hours of fun for children of all ages. Ours couldn’t wait to tackle the 20m rainbow bumper slide and for the brave - the 8m vertical drop slides (Let’s just say I left that one to the kids…) There’s also a dedicated under-5s area with gentler play structures, which is ideal if you’re visiting with toddlers or preschoolers. Meanwhile, we adults took the chance to enjoy a coffee and a well- earned breather.
Cooling Off at Dippy’s Splash Zone
With the weather being warm and sunny, we knew we’d hit gold with our next stop: Dippy’s Splash Zone - the largest outdoor water park in East Anglia! This area is a true highlight for summer visits and ideal for energetic kids who love water play. The Splash Zone is full of interactive fun: think slides, fountains, water cannons, and the ever-popular giant tipping bucket that drenches everyone below with a huge splash of water. The kids couldn't get enough of it, running from one water feature to the next, squealing with laughter.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get better... the foam party kicked off! With upbeat music and fluffy clouds of foam, it was a massive hit and felt like the perfect grand finale to the watery fun.
Tip: Don’t forget to pack swimwear, towels, and maybe a change of clothes - you’ll definitely need them.
The ROARR! Experience - Final Thoughts
We had a fantastic time at ROARR! If you’re planning a Norfolk holiday, ROARR! makes a perfect family day trip and is just 30 minutes from Norwich. It’s one of those places where every family member finds something they love - whether it’s high-flying thrills, cooling water play, cute animals, or immersive dino fun.
