Sandpipers offers a lovely base from which to set out and explore the area. Great walks and cycle rides (secure storage for the bikes) direct from the cottage or spend a day shopping in Holt. After being out for the day come back to the cottage and relax with either a glass of wine or tea (using the vintage tea things). If the evening turns chilly light the log burner for a cosy evening in.
You can perhaps do a jigsaw or watch one of the many DVD 's
Sandpipers is a typical brick and flint rural cottage with wisteria in the spring and roses in the summer on the front wall. It sleeps 4 in separate double and twin bedded rooms (not walk through)
and has an upstairs bathroom with power shower over bath and blue tooth enabled bathroom mirror
The kitchen is fully fitted with boiling water tap,washer dryer, microwave, Tassimo coffee maker, slow cooker and other kitchen electrical appliances. All sorts of extra equipment supplied garlic press and avacado tool included!
It's decorated with a North Norfolk theme (poppy line staircase lavender fields bedroom etc.).
The sitting room is heavily beamed with bresumer fireplace with log burner.
There is a 32" TV with inbuilt DVD and a good selection of DVD's/CD's, books, jigsaws and games for you to enjoy. And off course free broadband. Smart TV with Amazon Prime and Netflix available
There are garden chairs, a windbreak and other picnic equipment provided so you don't need to overload you car. There is a large brick shed attached to the cottage which gives secure storage for bicycles. If you can't bring you own then you can hire at reasonable cost from Overland in Holt (find their advert on this site) For very young visitors there is a travel cot, small sleepover bed for 18 moths to 3 year old, high chair and safety gate as well as a selection of soft toys and dress up doll for the over threes. there is even some vintage tea things to use. There are also child size picnic chairs, a tent and a selection of beach games.
. Dogs (and other pets!) are welcome by prior arrangement. Let's are generally for a week from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks available outside main summer season.
A laundry service is no longer available to me so you need to bring your own bed linen and towels.if this is real problem then I can supply and get you to store till family member is there and can deal with

Outside Property

There is a small patio area by the door suitable for two people and a further grassed garden area with at the end a decked area with bench and besides that a shingle area with fire pit and space for a barbecue. From here there are wonderful views across the fields to the castle. off road parking is available at the end of the terrace and further parking in a layby.

Surrounding Area

Baconsthorpe is home to the ruins of a moated medieval castle, looked after by English Heritage. This was the home of relatives on Ann Bowlyn. The castle can be seen in the distance from the rear and makes a lovely stroll too particularly of a summers evening when you are likely to have it to yourself. The village is just outside Holt which gives you so many shopping opportunities and is home to Bakers and Larners an independant department store with a food hall to rival Fortnum and Masons.
Baconsthorpe is well placed for touring North Norfolk's many attractions. Cromer is about 10 miles to the east and Wells next the sea the same distance to the west.. National trusts Blickling Felbrig and Sheringham Park all lwithin 10 miles
