Sitting Room: Cosy sitting room with open fire where there is a TV (Prime/Netflix/Plex etc.), and a games cupboard with jigsaws and board games
Dining Room: Clearview wood-burner in the dining room, and door leading to the garden.
Electric heating
Bedrooms: Comfortable bedrooms that can sleep 6. There is 1 double bed, 1 twin bedroom, and one bunk bedroom. There is also a truckle bed is also available in Bedroom 3 for a 7th person. A travel cot is also available.
Kitchen: Hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, all crockery & cutlery.
Bathroom: Bath, shower, WC.
Separate WC next to bathroom.
Utility Room: Washer/Dryer (additional line in garden), sink, and drying space, tiled floor with central drain - perfect for wet clothing to hang on the drying line.
The Stairs: Please note that as this was originally a fishermans' cottage, access to the 1st floor is by a Norfolk winding staircase. There are handrails and a hand-rope, but it could be difficult for the elderly or disabled.
DOGS.
Dogs are very welcome with a few provisos:
1) They are only allowed downstairs. The only carpeted room (a new carpet) is the sitting room, and we would appreciate it if dogs are kept out of the sitting room if they are wet (dry is fine), and never allowed on the furniture.
2) Dogs are not allowed upstairs.
3) There is an additional charge of £15 per dog for the rental period.
4) Please clean up any mess that your animal might have left in the garden before you leave.
Sleeping Arrangements
1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bedroom with bunks. The bathroom is downstairs, and there is an additional WC.
Outside Property
A lovely secluded and enclosed garden with apple trees, a large grassed area, and a sun-trap walled corner. There is a bench, and a table for eating outside. Additional outside chairs are stored in the cottage.
There is a washing line in the garden.
There is an outside tap for washing after the beach.
Cars can be parked on Gong Lane, directly outside the cottage.
Surrounding Area
The cottage is 250 yards from the creek in Burnham Overy Staithe - a quiet unspoilt village, which is close to the RSPB and Scolt Head Nature Reserves and within an excellent bird watching area.
There are many good walks along the North Norfolk Coast Path, as well as in the North Norfolk countryside.
There are sandy beaches on Scolt Head, which are accessible on foot at low tide and by a ferry service during high tide in the summer months.
It is also possible to walk to the beach at Gun Hill and then along to Holkham beach which is 3 miles away.
There is good dinghy sailing with adjacent boat parking and launching facilities.
Local Amenities:
For children, the playing field is close by with swings, slide, zip wire, skateboard facility, outdoor table tennis, and 2 well-maintained tennis courts. The house next door takes the bookings for the courts.
The nearest village is Burnham Market, and the nearest small town is Wells next the Sea, where there are supermarkets and cafes.
There are excellent restaurants in Burnham Market, Wells, Brancaster, and in both Great and Little Walsingham. You can also eat at the local pub which is just down the road.
Shopping: Burnham Market (1 mile), Wells next the Sea (5 miles), and Fakenham (10 miles).
