The Port of Wells is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The harbour channel dissects some of the richest coastal habitats for wildlife in the British Isles. Wells is popular with walkers (we provide binoculars, an OS map and walks information), gastronomes, cyclists, golfers, adventurers, lovers of spectacular country estates and those wanting a break from the busy pace of life.
Wells beach, a mile from the harbour, was named Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" in 2016 and it's not hard to see why. The wide-open skies, the sense of freedom even on a busy day, the sweep of huts against the pine forest. Ask about our beach hut if you want to make your stay extra special.
We have fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafes a short walk away. You can drive further afield or take the excellent Coasthopper bus. Step away from Quay and browse the independent shops along Staithe Street. Or to find serenity and wildlife on the footpaths, sandy creeks and saltmarsh you don't have to walk far.
Holkham Hall with its tranquil lake and deer park is within walking distance. Sandringham and the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are a short drive away. This holiday cottage has its own website: http://www.hutnextthesea.co.uk
