A deceptively spacious character cottage. The Bolthole is an ideal retreat whatever the weather, and a perfect romantic getaway for two. It's cosy, comfy, tastefully decorated and furnished with love and style. It's a real mix of the old and the new, exposed beams and latched doors but bang up to date on decor. A perfect home from home and NOT a soulless holiday cottage. I care about my guests experience.
There's an open fire for winter and a lovely courtyard garden for summer that gets the sun all afternoon into the evening. Just right for alfresco dining and BBQ's.
The village itself is a pretty, traditional Norfolk village and there's plenty to do in the immediate area. A fab award winning Gastro pub and a great little Bistro are a 10 minute stroll away. Then there's the unspoilt beaches, woods, coastal nature reserve, and RSPB bird reserve....
You are greeted with wine, bread & milk of your choice. Plus you get lots of extras. Tea, coffee, sugar etc etc... Towels and bed linen provided. As one of my guests at Samphire said, 'next time I'll just remember to bring a small bag of clothes because everything else is here'. For The Bolthole the same applies.

\" The cottage is a perfect mix of \"quirkiness\" and cosiness and provides all a couple with two dogs could want and need. The walk through Ken woods to the beach was a lovely dog walk. We were only here two days which was not enough and I will definitely come again\"
Sadie Howsen, July 2012.

The garden is a pretty courtyard garden, paved with borders, The BBQ is in the form of a Chiminea so you can also just have fires if it turns a bit chilly. Sunny from midday onwards. Secure (neighbours and you have access for bins) but it is gated and therefore dog friendly.
Parking is either directly in front of the cottage, or available close by.
Located in a pretty coastal vllage with unspoilt beaches, bird reserve and award-winning pub.
On the doorstep:
The Royal Estate of Sandringham is a three miles away and a beautiful place to explore.
Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm, a riot of colour from mid June to August, is at Heacham, a couple of minutes drive away. There's also The Lavender Kitchen Restaurant there, great for farmhouse-style Norfolk breakfasts, morning tea or coffee and cakes and the very best of cream teas. And don't miss the award winning Walsingham Farm Shop, also on site, selling the best food from local producers.
Beyond the doorstep:
Hunstanton: 5 miles. Brancaster: 8 miles. Burnham Market: 12 miles. Holkham: 17 miles. Wells next the Sea: 19 miles
The village itself is a traditional Norfolk Village and many of the houses are built from the local iron-rich carrstone. These golden brown houses are known as 'gingerbread houses' by the locals. The pretty market square lies at the centre of the village and here you will find a small selection of shops that offer the basic amenities (CO-OP foodstore, newsagents, chemist, post office) plus some offering more specialist services like arts and crafts and picture framing. The square turns into a twinkling wonderland at Christmas time and provides the perfect backdrop to the annual Victorian Christmas Market. There's also an old fashioned bookshop and an art gallery.
Snettisham also boasts an award-winning pub (The Rose & Crown), a cosy Bistro and a traditional fish and chip shop.
The village is also EASILY ACCESSIBLE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT- with a direct bus from Kings Lynn railway station - and is served by the Coasthopper allowing you to explore the beautiful North Norfolk coast even if you don't have a car.
October availability! Don't miss it!
