Sea Breeze has its own dedicated off-road parking space at the rear of the property. It also has its own, useful small courtyard area which is ideal for guests to safely store bikes, beach things and dry off wet clothing etc. The courtyard also includes plenty of buckets & spades to use during your stay.
Sheringham, a hidden gem of a seaside town, and arguably the best appointed on the North Norfolk coast making it an excellent location for a holiday. This charming old fishing town, with its popular award-winning Blue Flag beach of flint pebbles when the tide is high (ideal for swimming), gives way to a large expanse of smooth sand as the tide recedes. From Sea Breeze walk 2 minutes and you’ll be on the Promenade looking over the fabulous beach. Walk 2 minutes the other way into town, past a fantastic coffee shop, to the numerous local shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a Sainsbury’s, as well as a very active Theatre. There is also a twice weekly market and a Tesco just outside the town centre which is a 10 minute walk from Sea Breeze.
Off the promenade you can access The Norfolk Coastal Path – either head West along the cliff top towards Weybourne or head East taking you over the beautiful Beeston Bump. Whichever direction you head you’re guaranteed glorious coastal views.
Sheringham also has its own railway station – with modern trains going via Cromer to Norwich as well as the wonderful traditional steam trains, along the Poppy Line to Holt - this is very popular with guests.
If golf is your thing the town has an excellent 18-hole Links Golf Course with stunning views and is less than a 5 minute drive from the apartment. There is also a great shorter 9-hole course at The Links Country Club in West Runton, which is a 10 minute drive from the apartment.
If you fancy going further afield head west on the Coast Road (A149), you will work your way through the lovely coastal villages of Weybourne, Kelling, Salthouse, Cley, Blakeney, Morston and Stiffkey. It would be impossible to list all of the places to go and countless walks along the way, but some particular highlights include the Dun Cow pub in Salthouse, the Cley Marshes Visitor Centre – an internationally renowned centre for bird watching, sailing & seal trips from Blakeney & Morston. Beyond Stiffkey, but still only 20 miles or 45 minutes from Sheringham, you’ll find Wells and then Holkham, both famed for the expansive sandy beaches and pinewoods. In addition, Wells is a bustling small seaside town, with plenty of shops & eateries and Holkham also boasts the Victoria pub as well as Holkham Hall – an imposing stately home, with fabulous grounds and lovely restaurant/café.
Just 10 minutes up the road you will find Holt, a gorgeous Georgian market town; often voted one of the nicest small towns in the country. Holt has a lovely cafe/eatery called Byfords and a great, independent department store called Bakers & Larners. They also have a Joules and lots of other lovely independent shops & cafes.
Cromer, is 10 minutes in the car and has lots to offer. The traditional Victorian pier is a lovely place to take a stroll and has an active Life Boat station at the end. Crabbing off the pier is a great activity for kids (& bigger kids alike). There is a good restaurant (Lily-Mai's) which looks over the pier. Also No. 1 fish & chip restaurant. Cromer also has great cafes – Hatters Tea Shop, Huckleberries and there is The Rocket Cafe which does really great food (breakfast & lunch) and has fab sea views over the beach & pier – it has an outside balcony too with several tables and chairs.
Sheringham is a great base to explore North Norfolk – you’ll be just a short drive away from the fabulous stately homes of Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall, Holkham Hall, as well as The Muckleburgh Collection Military Museum as well as plenty of other wonderful places to visit: www.visitnorthnorfolk.com.This holiday cottage has its own website: https://www.facebook.com/sheringhamseasideretreats
