Keepers Cottage is set in peaceful and tranquil rural surroundings beside a field of Christmas trees and overlooking the Salle Common. The cottage has been recently renovated and contains many antiquities that are in keeping with the period including an original double cast iron and brass bed. It also has many modern amenities including a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker with induction heated top, microwave, two small fridges with ice boxes kettle and toaster. There are two large reception rooms one that has a wood burner with one basket of wood supplied (additional wood at a cost of £5 per basket) and glass door opening to the patio an ercol dining table and chairs and three piece suite, pine dresser and television with freesat tv. The other has a beautiful original open fire place, wooden flooring and oriental carpet, two seater and three seater settee television with freesat tv and DVD player. There is also a breakfast table in the kitchen and a downstairs toilet. Stairs lead from the front door to the four bedrooms and bathroom. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, original fireplace and leather chaise lounge. The twin room also has a original fireplace adding to the quaintness of the cottage, another has a double brass bed and an ensuite shower room. The single bedroom overlooks the field of Christmas trees. All have chest of drawers and wardrobes. Linen and towels provided. Provisions for young children include stair gate, travel cot and high chair.
It has a large garden patio to the rear, surrounded with mature shrubs set in a brick border with brick lights for use on warm summer evenings. Here you will find a rattan garden table and chairs,umbrella and a barbeque for your use. There is an area to the side of the property set to lawn with apple trees and stepping stones from the garden gate to the patio and garden shed that can be used for bicycles, etc and a washing line. The garden is enclosed by a picket fence to prevent your dog or children from going astray. There is off road parking 3 vehicles.
The cottage is situated on the outskirts of Salle close to Cawston where there is a local pub called The Bell, a local shop/post office and tea rooms. The centre of Salle is also nearby that has a church a hall opposite, children's play area and cricket grounds. It is also close to the nearby market town of Reepham that comprises two pubs The Kings Arms, The Crown and Cafe/restaurant and B&B called The Dial House. Market day is on a Wednesday when the library in The Bircham Centre is also open alongside a charity shop, archive rooms and art gallery. There is also a newsagent, post office, chemist, butcher, grocers, art gallery, antique shop and tea room amongst several other businesses. There are footpaths for walking nearby including The Marriotts way, a disused railway, that is also ideal for cycling on between Norwich and Wroxham broad. Situated on the Marriotts way are The Station Cafe at the old Reepham Station or Whitwell Station that serves beverages, cakes and light lunches. Here you could also take a short ride on the steam train or hire a bike to cycle along the disused railway. The cottage is ideally set between Norwich and the coast of Blakeney along the Holt road or Cromer via Aylsham along the A140. There is lots of wildlife surrounding the area it's not unusual to find a pheasant wandering in the front garden, see a barn owl, pheasants or a deer or two taking a stroll in the field behind. Norfolk is a fantastic place to come to go bird watching and Keepers Cottage is in an ideal location to visit Cley marshes amongst several others.
