Surrounding area

The Garden Room in Norfolk (photo 3) The Garden Room in Norfolk (photo 4) Mundesley, with its community ethos, is a gentle sea-side village which feels a little like you've turned the clock back 20 years, and yet has everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Within a couple of minutes you can be walking along the cliff tops and looking out to sea, as you stroll into the main part of the village.
The beach- top gardens are always beautiful with colourful flower beds set for each season. You can sit with a a drink or your fish and chips and happily look out to sea for hours!
The main entrance to the beach and its pretty beach huts is here, next to the Maritime Museum, one of England’s smallest but nonetheless packed with exhibits and paraphernalia!
The Ship Inn is a few more minutes walk away with excellent pub meals and a beer garden on the cliff top. (There are plenty of of other village pubs and cafes within a short drive of Mundesley too.)
Near the village cafe's and gift shops is the park which you can stroll through to the main village centre and its shops. Among them is a Post Office, Chemist, Grocers, Butchers/Deli, Flower Shop, 'Jupe', for lovely clothes and a Hair and Beauty Salon.
There's also an excellent medical centre, garages and a Tesco express on the coastal road.
The beach itself has lifeguards on duty in the summer months and is perfect for family fun. However, if you are looking for peace and quiet you simply have to walk up the beach, away from the village and within minutes, even in high season you can have vast stretches of sand and sea virtually to yourself.
There is a nine hole golf course in Mundesley and well established 18 hole courses in Cromer and Sheringham.
If you want to venture further then The Garden Room is a perfect base for exploring the beauty and variety that North Norfolk has to offer, from the many excellent beaches, bird and nature reserves, seal watching, National Trust properties,The Broads, to the lovely villages and towns to seek out and explore. And if you need a 'city fix' then Norwich is great for its heritage and shopping! There really is so much to enjoy with the sanctuary of the Garden Room to return too.
