1 double, I twin / double, I bunk bed
This holiday cottage began its life as a family home and we still think of it in this way. We want you to feel as comfortable there as we always have, enjoying the nearby beauty of Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Stiffkey - places we never tire of visiting. Dogs and children are not only welcome but positively encouraged! You are also welcome to use our free WIFI internet access.
The cottage can sleep 6 in the following beds: 1 double, 2 singles (that can be ziplocked together to form a double bed), and 2 bunk beds. It's perfectly possible for one or two extra people to 'camp' in the sitting room (there is a large sofa), but be aware that access to the bathroom is through this room, so sleeping here doesn't suit those seeking privacy or an early night.
Duvets, blankets and pillows for all beds are provided. We ask that you bring your own sheets, pillow cases, duvet-covers and towels.
Please Note: There is no central heating. There is an open fire downstairs, storage heaters in each room and a few extra electric heaters for use if necessary. We can ask that heating is put on ahead of your arrival if you wish.
Downstairs Bedroom: This is a small and cosy room, with a two single ziplock beds that can be set up either as twin beds or zipped into a double as you prefer.
Dining Room: This has always been where we tend to spend our evenings - eating, drinking, talking and playing cards, monopoly or scrabble. There is a large dining table which comfortably seats 8 people, an open fire, and three often-fought-over armchairs.
Toy Room: Leading off the dining room is a small room, equipped with cards and boardgames for the grown-ups and a variety of toys and games for the children. There are two child sized desks. A high chair is stored in here.
Kitchen: Through the dining room is the Kitchen. We hope you will find everything you need here to cook up a storm. There is an electric hob and oven, a dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge freezer and all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you will need.
Master Bedroom: The principal bedroom has a comfortable double-bed, storage facilities and a wonderful view out over the garden and the surrounding countryside to the church.
Bunk Bedroom: Intended for children, but adults can sleep comfortably here too.
The 'Through Room': This is an upstairs living room with a large sofa, a couple of chairs and a TV and DVD player. A selection of DVDs are on a shelf.
Bathroom: This is a spacious room, complete with toilet, sink, bath/shower and electric-heated towel rail..
The Garden is one of the most special features of the house. Covering over 1/5 of an acre, it is vast enough for mini-games of croquet, cricket, football or rounders. There is a picnic table provided for evenings when the weather permits dining alfresco. There are apples to be picked in Autumn and champion conkers to be collected as well as berries from the fruit bushes at the end of the garden - if you can get there before the birds!
There is an outside loo, and two outhouses. One is a coal shed (we ask that you to replace any you use). The second contains children's outdoor toys. You are welcome to use these, but you do so at your own risk. You should also find crabbing equipment, buckets and spades and some outdoor game facilities.
Off road parking for 2 / 3 cars is available.
