Shorter breaks:
Monday to Friday - 4 nights.
Friday to Mon - 4 nights.

The Old Smithy still has the original sign over the door and is a very welcoming, light and airy comfortable cottage. Ideal for 2 to 3 guests. Lovely open plan living area with a large wood burner.

Located in the lovely quiet village of Great Walsingham, the Smithy is a super place to relax and unwind and has everything you would expect in a modern property whilst retaining unique character features. With the coast only 5 miles away offering stunning beaches, everything is very easily accessible from the cottage to be able to explore all North Norfolk offers.

Inside The Old Smithy you will find:

Good size entrance hall with plenty of space for hanging coats/storing boots etc.

The large welcoming living room has an open plan style, which works very well with one area housing the kitchen and the other the dining area. The sitting area has 2 comfortable sofas, and large wood burner. Wi-Fi, TV, DVD, & CD player are all available.

There are 3 bathrooms in the cottage (the shower room is on the ground floor). There is also a small utility room with a washing machine & dryer. Both rooms are off the hall.

Heading upstairs:

From the hallway is the staircase leading to the two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, due to the age and nature of the building, all these rooms have restricted height in places.

The first and smallest of the two bedrooms has a rather unusual - but handy - layout. There are two doors to this room each opening on either side of the bed. There are two windows, so this is a lovely light room and the bed is tucked under the eaves.
The bathroom is opposite.

The second bedroom is a good size, again with restricted height in places.

The bathroom is off this bedroom.
Although the bathrooms are not large, they are fresh & have recently been updated.

Sleeping Arrangements

2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms & a shower room.

Outside Property

Although there is no garden, directly outside the front door is a bench so you can sit outside. Should you wish to park on the green then there are further chairs that can also be used at the front to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the view down to the village green.

Surrounding Area

1 mile away (pleasant walk via the village ford) is Little Walsingham, famous for its religious pilgrimages. There is also The Black Lion pub, local small general store and Walsingham Farm shop

The grounds of the Abbey are lovely & well worth a visit. The Walsingham light railway station with links to the station at Wells is also found in Little Walsingham.

Wells-next-the-Sea is 5 miles away, which has a stunning blue flag beach.
