The market town of Fakenham is centrally located for your visit to North Norfolk with its picturesque villages of flint and carrstone buildings, its wild and beautiful beaches, and wide open skies. Wells next the Sea, Cley, The Burnhams, the charming Georgian town of Holt, and Sherringham with its Poppy Line steam engines, are all an easy drive and the Thursford Collection and Christmas Spectacular are only 5 miles away. There is plenty to do in the area - fish on the River Wensum, walk along the Coastal Path, or visit some of the many stately homes open to the public. North Norfolk is a birdwatcher's paradise and Pensthorpe (as seen on BBC Springwatch) and Sculthorpe Hawk & Owl Trust are just up the road. Fakenham itself has a busy Thursday market and auction, a Racecourse with regular meetings in the winter months (even Camel Racing!) and a 9-hole golf course and driving range. Once a month, a Farmers' Market is held in the main square, and every so often, a French market comes to town.
