The ground floor is arranged around a single multi-purpose room encompassing living-room and kitchen, with a separate dining room where breakfasts are served. This opens onto a charming garden during the summer months. Both bedrooms are on the first floor.

COMFORT & TRANQUILITY: Well-appointed rooms, decorated in natural colours house king-sized double beds so you can relax and enjoy the benefits of a country break. Both rooms are furnished with an eclectic mixture of contemporary, antique and re-purposed furniture.

STYLISH ROOMS: Elephant Room has its own en-suite shower room, whilst the larger Blofields Room has it own luxurious bathroom across the hall, for the exclusive use of guests in this room only. There is free WiFi throughout, bottled mineral water, as well as tea and coffee in each room. Freshly laundered towels are provided, along with high quality cotton bed linen.

GOURMET BREAKFAST: We serve the best local free-range ingredients from our local butcher, baker and grocery stores. We provide fresh fruit and cereals as well as full English or vegetarian breakfasts along with fresh tea and coffee. We can cater for any special diet given sufficient prior notice.

We charge a room rate, and prices listed here are indicative of the price you will be charged for your stay. We can offer reduced prices on rooms if you book for more than 2 nights. As we share our home with two dogs, Dusty and Cleo, we are not able to accommodate pets.

Originally a Tinsmith's workshop dating from the eighteenth century, located in the centre of Aylsham, a charming market town. The house has retained the original workshop feel, but the stone floors, underfloor heating, modern insulation and open-plan living have coalesced to make a stylishly designed home.

Outside and garden

Parking is free and ample for the duration of your stay and can be found in the main Aylsham car park which is opposite Tinsmith's House, entrance is on Burgh Road.

In warmer weather, we open the doors out onto the garden and can serve your breakfast on the terrace.

Guests like to spend time doing one of the following activities:


Aylsham is surrounded by some of Norfolk's finest country houses, such as Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Mannington Hall. You can access the many routes crossing the town from the doorstep of Tinsmith's House - including the Marriott's Way and Weavers' Way that are popular with both walkers and cyclists.

The authentic seaside resorts of Cromer and Sheringham are 10-15 minutes drive away whilst the popular coastal villages of Cley, Blakeney, Stiffkey and Morston are reached within 25-30 minutes. Whether it's historic houses and gardens, or the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Norfolk's coastline you're after, Tinsmith's House is an ideal place to stay.
