Location

The White Cottage is just an eight minute walk from the popular town of Holt and only four miles from the coast. It is an ideal location for local attractions and historic properties including National Trust properties such as Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall. There is also a variety of activities such as sailing, walking, cycling and bird watching.

The historic Georgian town of Holt has plenty of charming and interesting shops. You can browse in the antique shops, book shops and boutiques or relax in one of the many tea rooms. There are several restaurants and public houses where you can have lunch or an evening meal.

Whatever time of year you visit, you will be captivated by the beauty and charm of North Norfolk. You will not want to rush. It is a great place for relaxing.

There are many unspoilt towns and villages with attractive buildings and interesting churches. You will find the diversity of the North Norfolk coastline offers endless peace and enjoyment with its vast beaches, marshes, creakes and cliff tops. The views and walks from the cliffs are not to be missed.

There is, too, an abundance of wildlife, trees, plants and wild flowers. North Norfolk is an outstanding location for birdwatching with the RSPB reserve on the coast at Titchfield as well as many other bird watching sites.

Holt is a picturesque, bustling North Norfolk town. There is a fantastic variety of shops to visit here, almost all of which are unique, independent local businesses.

There is a wealth of boutique clothes shops, several Art Galleries and gift shops as well as cafes, restaurants and bars.

Holt is perhaps at its most attractive over the Christmas period, when the award winning Christmas lights transform the town into a veritable winter wonderland.

Holt Country park has some great walks, and is situated just outside the town.

The Poppy Line, part of the North Norfolk Steam Railway runs from here to the popular seaside town of Sheringham, and just down the hill Letheringsett Watermill offers working viewings of the only flour producing watermill in Norfolk.
