LOCATION
Set in the heart of the North Norfolk Countryside, with Walsingham only 1½ miles away, Thursford the home of the Christmas Spectacular 1½ miles and the beautiful North Norfolk Coast with its big blue skies 8 miles. The Cottage is also perfectly placed to enjoy the many attractions that North Norfolk has to offer. Bird watching at one of the coastal nature reserves (we have owls and buzzards on the farm), enjoy a visit to one of the many historic houses. If walking takes your fancy Norfolk has the famous Peddars Way and a spectacular coastal path along with an enormous network of countryside foootpaths. A favourite for many is taking a short boat trip from Morston to Blakeney Point to spot the grey seals in their natural habitat. All this coupled with the slower pace of life it is a perfect venue for a well earned break.
PLACES OF INTEREST
From a water fowl park; falconry centre; rare farm breeds; steam railways; country houses, halls and gardens; museums; arts & craft galleries and old magnificent churches to a working watermill and a hand-made crystal glass factory - there is something to see for every day of the week, whatever the weather. We are only 1 mile from the Thursford Collection Museum.
Sporting Activities - Cycling and walking are very popular, but be warned North Norfolk is not flat - if it were, the rolling and undulating countryside it would not be so pleasant or interesting. Cycle hire is available.
For the really active enjoying water sports, there are facilities and clubs for wind-surfing and water-skiing at Wells, sailing at Morston and Blakeney with sail training, canoe and dingy hire available, and surfing at East Runton.
Most towns have sports halls in the area for keep fit activities. Swimming, tennis and bowling facilities are available at local clubs and centres. For horse riding and trekking, there are several riding centres in the area offering these facilities.
