Pilgrims Rest is a lovely comfortable family home in an enclosed courtyard with a patio and private parking. It has a relaxed peaceful atmosphere for you to unwind.

We offer excellent fresh home cooked food, all locally sourced with vegetarian catered for, prior notice required. In summer we offer food in the garden under the gazebo. We will do our very best to make your stay with us a memorable one, ensuring you will want to return.

It is situated in the heart of this lovely village, convenient for both shrines and churches, also the abbey grounds. Pilgrims Rest overlooks the pump square.

By Rail: The nearest railway stations are Norwich and Kings Lynn, both 27 miles away.
By Bus: Buses operate between Norwich and Fakenham, also Kings Lynn and Fakenham.
Local bus company operates services between Fakenham,Walsingham and Wells. The coastal Hopper operates between Cromer and Hunstanton from Wells.

Walsingham in North Norfolk, is a village steeped in history. There are many beautiful buildings, some dating back to medieval times.
The village is famous for its two shrines and abbey grounds which attract thousand of tourists from all over the world.
Walsingham boasts many trades and crafts including a local farm shop, two icon shops, the village stores, a museum old prison and tea rooms. There are various other places of interest within and around the village for you to explore. The Thursford steam engine Collection is only 3 miles from Walsingham.


It is five miles from the nearest beach and some of the most stunning coastline in the country. 26 miles from Norwich one of Britain's finest shopping centres, Sandringham, Holkham and other National Trust houses a short drive away.
A small light railway operates during the season from Walsingham to Wells next the Sea 5miles away, running through the beautiful countryside. There are 11 designated walks aroun Walsingham and is an ideal centre for golfers, walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and all those wishing to relax and enjoy our unspoilt countryside.

Actually the larger of the two Walsinghams, Little Walsingham is famous for the Shrine of Our Lady, the story of which begins as far back as 1061. Little Walsingham is known by many as ‘Englands Nazareth’, and thousands of people come on pilgrimage here every year.
The village has over 50 churches, as well as several pubs, gift shops, cafes, galleries and shops, and there are plenty of places to stay.
Little Walsingham is only a short drive from the town of Fakenham, which has plenty of facilities including large supermarkets. A short distance in the other direction will take you to Wells beach, considered by many to be the finest beach in Norfolk.
