On an elevated position with wonderful views over Blakeney Point and the marshes, North Down, Morston provides an unparalleled opportunity to experience the best of the North Norfolk coast. Whether you enjoy sailing, walking, bird watching or simply sitting back and enjoying the local hospitality you will not be disappointed.
North Down, Morston, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest SSSI is located between Blakeney, the renowned North Norfolk village, and its smaller neighbour Morston. Each village is a couple of minutes by car or 10-12 minutes walk along the coastal path accessed directly from the property. The area is dominated by Blakeney Point, a large sand and shingle peninsular and a National Trust Nature Reserve. The Point is home to a large colony of wild Common and Grey Seals, as well as a summer breeding ground for many varieties of coastal birds and an important resting place for migratory birds. Trips to the seal colony leave from Morston and Blakeney Quays.
North Down Bungalow has a private footpath leading to the Pedders Way and Norfolk Coastal Path, on the edge of the salt marshes and provides an excellent base for walks. The bungalow has direct views over the marshes and onwards to the sea.
Situated off the coastal road at the end of a long private drive shared only with the neighbouring property the bungalow is very quiet and secluded. The west facing garden is relatively substantial approximately 13 of an acre although it is not fully fenced in. As an SSSI the natural heath land, gorse and trees are retained. A large grassed area is also maintained garden furniture and BBQ provided.
The bungalow is fully centrally heated. There are two bedrooms: a substantial double bedroom with a double bed and a ¾ bed, and a second twin bedded room. The property can therefore comfortably accommodate 45 persons although there is also a double sofa bed in the lounge. A cot and high chair can be made available on request. There is a bathroom with shower facilities and a separate WC.
The lounge has ample seating and a dining table. A coal or wood burning fireplace provides additional comfort in winter. There is a television, CD, DVD, and a stack of books and games. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.
The accommodation is laid out on one level and with the exception of the step into the front door; there are no stairs, steps or level changes. Although not designed specifically the property is suitable for disabled persons or those with limited mobility.
Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. There is good mobile phone reception. A small well-behaved pet is welcome for an additional £10 a week.
