Banham stretches along the old B1113 for nearly 2 miles with its tree lined village green at the centre, surrounded by old thatched houses, the village shop with Post Office and the church of St Mary the Virgin.
Located at one end is Banham Zoo offering a great day out for all the family and also a weekly car boot on Sunday. Opposite the zoo is the Appleyard where you can find a few local business's including a convenience store, take-away restaurant and the Barrel pub, good for live entertainment at weekends.
Banham was famous for the original Gaymer Cider Factory and the brick making from the clay found around the area.
The surrounding villages of Old Buckenham, New Buckenham and Kenninghall also offer good places to eat and drink.
The nearest town of Attleborough offers a wide variety of shops, whilst Wymondham and Diss, within a few miles away, boast some impressive buildings plus galleries and antique shops.
