More Details

Mundesley has a beautiful sandy beach surveyed during the summer season by volunteers who alert the coastguards if problems arise. The village has its own inshore lifeboat. The beach, which is accessed by a ramp, has a café, beach huts and fishing boats drawn up on the sand. There are shower and toilet facilities next to the café. In the village there are several shops, tea rooms, places to eat, a Post Office, a hotel, library and a medical centre. There is a 9 hole golf course overlooking the sea. Ample parking is close to the beach with an adjacent picnic area. Places of interest include the tiny Mundesley Maritime Museum, the Church and Stow Mill, a restored flour mill with attached shop. Walkers can choose from several footpaths and circular walks. Mundesley is less than 5 miles from North Walsham rail station the Bittern Line Norwich to Sheringham. Frequent coastal bus service also connects to North Walsham.

Mundesley beach achieved ‘blue flag’ status in 2009 because of the excellent quality of the water and the safety of the swimming here.
In the summer qualified lifeguards are on duty on the beach, so this is a popular spot for families who want to get wet!
The village itself is well equipped with shops, cafes and B&B’s, and from the beach a short walk up the cliff path takes you to the clifftop, which affords excellent views over the surrounding area.
