Location

The Lily Pad is located about half a mile from the centre of Mundesley, a picturesque seaside village, with a beautiful blue flag sandy beach.

Mundesley has two pubs and two hotels providing bar snacks and restaurant meals, food takeaways, and a very good Chinese take-away and restaurant. There is also a good selection of local shops including a greengrocer, butcher etc.

We have four very local golf clubs: Mundesley has an excellent golf course only half a mile away - you can see it from your patio - and Royal Cromer golf course is 8 miles away.
Sheringham is 15 miles away, and West Runton is 12 miles away. My husband is retired, and is a member of Mundesley Golf Club, playing off 17. he is always happy to have a game, and can facilitate guest rates, currently £15 per day or £12 for 9 holes.

For anglers, there are lots of local carp lakes and ponds - one in our garden, and another next to the golf course half a mile away - with carp, bream and tench, and of course the Broads are 20 minutes away. Also, for sea anglers, there is a pier in Cromer, and we have a bit of beach to fish off!!

The Lily Pad is set in a rural location, bordering fields, and is also close to the picturesque village of Trunch, which benefits from the Trunch Crown, a small and very friendly pub, providing a selection of real ales and bar snacks.

The market towns of Cromer and North Walsham are ten minutes away, and the Norfolk Broads start about 15 minutes away at Stalham. The lovely city of Norwich is a forty minute drive away and there is regular public transport to the city.

There are many Quiet Lanes for walking or bike riding. The Lane outside the gate is a gentle walk or ride to the Trunch Crown! The area has lots of opportunities for Autumn and Winter walks with or without your dogs!

The North Norfolk coast and marshes around Blakeney, Wells and Holkham, are about 40 minutes' drive away.

Mundesley beach achieved ‘blue flag’ status in 2009 because of the excellent quality of the water and the safety of the swimming here.
In the summer qualified lifeguards are on duty on the beach, so this is a popular spot for families who want to get wet!
The village itself is well equipped with shops, cafes and B&B’s, and from the beach a short walk up the cliff path takes you to the clifftop, which affords excellent views over the surrounding area.
