Heacham is a great location for families with two unspoilt beaches, a range of shops and many places to eat. The village has a link to the Native American princess Pocahontas who married the Englishman John Rolfe, who was born in Heacham. Today Pocahontas is still remembered by a memorial carving in the beautiful St Mary’s Church.
The beach at Heacham is situated on the east banks of The Wash this means it is one of the few beaches in eastern England where the sun sets over the sea instead of over land. As such, with the right weather conditions, beautiful sunsets can be viewed.
Some of the nearby local attractions include, Norfolk Lavender, Snettisham Park Farm, the farm is a must for all ages, where you can see the famous red deer or feed lambs, kid goats and piglets, RSPB Nature Reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell, Sandringham House is the country retreat of H.M. open almost every day from April to October, Golf Courses There are several excellent Golf Courses very close to Heacham. Both the Hunstanton and the Royal West Norfolk Golf Clubs offer superb links courses, whilst King's Lynn Golf Club is a very nice parkland course, Heacham Beaches The north and south beaches are both easily accessible.

Heacham
Our village was the home of Pocahontas when she stayed here with her husband who was born in Heacham. Our village sign depicts this and there is a memorial to Pocahontas and John Rolfe in the parish church St. Mary's.
Heacham has 2 beaches and a promenade that accesses Hunstanton, a great walk on a fine day or to watch the sun set over The Wash.
Norfolk Lavender is also situated in Heacham and it remains open all year, offering seasonal crafts, gift shop, restaurant, greenhouse and gardens, though the best time for the lavender is in July and August, when guided tours of the fields are available.
In the winter we have thousands of Pink Footed Geese fly over to roost on the Wash at night and return in the morning to feed on the fields of beet tops. We are mid-way between the RSPB reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell.
