Briston Norfolk The Firs The Firs

THE FIRS
The Firs is our second home and we hope you will find it your ‘home from home’. It is a spacious recently refurbished bungalow situated on the edge of Briston with views to the open countryside. It is perfect for all seasons with plenty of space to sit outside in the warmer weather and modern central heating when it’s cooler. There is an additional gas flame fire in the lounge. There is even a small sunroom to catch the rays throughout the year.

ACCOMMODATION
The accommodation consists of a very well equipped family kitchen with a washing machine, dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridgefreezer and toaster. There is a breakfast area for six. Tea towels and hand towels are provided for your use.

The lounge is comfortable and homely with sofas and a dining area for six. You will find all the usual home entertainment such as TV, video and DVD players with a selection of books, videos, CDs, DVDs, Games machine, board games and toys.

You will find all beds made up with coordinating linen, and our duvets and pillows are all hypoallergenic. Each room has either a clock radio or CD or cassette player. The main bedroom has a double bed, antique pine furniture, small TV and the luxury of an en suite with a modern shower. This bedroom is away from the other bedrooms and so is ideal for peace and quiet from the rest of the family or privacy if two couples are staying.

The other two bedrooms have twin beds and share a modern family bathroom with a bath. Once again hand towels are provided. A cot can be put in the double or the larger twin room. As you would expect you will find the usual creature comforts of a hairdryer, iron and ironing board.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Firs is also suitable for less able people - there is only one-step up into the bungalow and this has grab rails and most of the doors are wide enough to take a wheelchair. For any specific requirements please do not hesitate to contact us.

GARDEN
The garden is spacious and private. It is mainly grassed and child and dog friendly. It is a beautiful spot to sit and listen to the numerous very tame birds that visit - you don’t need to go very far for bird watching!! There is a large shingled area to the rear of the property with a garage and plenty of parking spaces. For your enjoyment you are more than welcome to use the garden furniture and barbecue. For our younger guests there is a slide and Little Tykes table as well as some outdoor games.

We have telephone facilities and there is good mobile network coverage. There is also a public payphone less than one minute’s walk away. We have an information folder that will give you plenty of ideas about your break and there are various books about local walks.

TARIFF
Rates vary from £350 per week in low season to £700 per week in high season. Bookings are taken throughout the year for weekly lets and short breaks both weekend and midweek. At certain times of the year we offer last minute special offers. All prices are fully inclusive of all electricity, gas and heating. Bed linen and towels are provided for your convenience - you only need to provide personal towels.

Weekly and weekend bookings start on Fridays and midweek breaks start on Mondays. However, particularly in low season, this is flexible - please call us to discuss. The property is available from 4pm on the first day of your holiday and you are kindly requested to vacate the property by 11am on the last day.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remainder of the cost is payable eight weeks before your break or on booking if this is made less than eight weeks before the date.

All breakages and damage must be paid for.

EXTRAS
We charge an extra £30 for each booking if you are bringing a dog - this covers the cost of the extra cleaning. If you book any additional services see Optional Extras, these will be payable when the balance of the rental charge is due.

Please contact us with your requirements and we will reply with availability and rates.

ABOUT BRISTON
Briston is a large village in a wonderful position in North Norfolk. It really is central to so much in the area.

The village has an excellent village store, post office, proper bakery and superb butchers. All are in walking distance of The Firs. There are also two pubs, a sports playing field and village green. There are bus links to most of the important places locally and beyond. You will find a bus timetable in our information folder. We have found the villagers to be very friendly and helpful.

Briston is a five minute drive from the historic Georgian market town of Holt, which has really interesting shops to browse around. There is even a traditional department store, plenty of tempting tearooms and a good sized Budgens. There is an excellent fish and chip shop a few minutes drive away in Melton Constable.

The coast at Blakeney is less than a 15 minute drive and the wonderful beaches at Wells
