Coming to Byfords is about the whole experience. Byfords is a family run business offering wonderful fresh food cooked on the premises. But it's more than that. It's about the feeling. The building itself is intriguing and steeped in history, and provides a magical atmosphere. Many different age groups mix together at Byfords, giving the place a real buzz. It's a bit posh but not pretentious, the service is efficient but not formal, the dress... how you feel. This is the place where well-earned relaxation time is spent!

Few would question that Byfords is the most attractive building in the town. Believed to be the oldest house, the flint fronted Grade II listed property has a wealth of character. The floors are not quite straight, some of the doorways a bit too small, brick and flint walls lie underneath chunky oak beams and enclose wooden and pamment floors. A series of small rooms leads one into the other, some with feature fire places, others with doorways opening on to alfresco dining. This character continues on the first and second floors that house the Posh B&B accommodation.
