Winterton-on-sea has a large sandy beach backed by a fantastic area of sand dunes.
Much of the dunes here form part of the Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve, which provides a habitat for a great number of rare and endangered species.
The village, although small does have a general store, a pub The Fishermans Return, a cafe, fish and chip shop, and a post office/newsagents which can cater for most of the day to day needs of visitors to the area.
