Just down the hill from the bustling market town of Holt lies the small village of Letheringsett.
Letheringsett is perhaps most famous for its working watermill on the river Glaven, the only one of its kind in the area still to produce flour. There are regular demonstrations here where you can see the mill in action, and buy the organic flour that is produced here, or a loaf of bread if you don’t feel like baking!
Further down the road is an unbridged ford, which whilst unsuitable for cars is a hit with the children. Nearby, the Kings Head pub serves excellent food, and has a large garden with a great childrens play area and a pizza oven, perfect for the summer months.
Letheringsett used to have a Maltings and Brewery on the river Glaven, but these buildings have fallen into disrepair and ther are plans to convert them to holiday homes.
