Norfolk Wildlife Trust - North Norfolk Group<br><br>The North Norfolk Group of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust meets at 7.30p.m. from September to April on the third Thursday of each month, usually in Cley village Hall, but with a few meetings at other venues in the region.The meetings take the form of illustrated talks on Natural history subjects with a mixture of topics covering the flora and fauna of Norfolk, the Trust's Nature Reserves, and wider natural history fields both in Britain and worldwide.<br><br><br>In addition a number of outdoor meetings are arranged in the summer months visiting local sites of interest.<br><br><br>The internationally important Cley Nature Reserve lies in the region's area with viewing hides, a visitors centre with explanatory displays and shop with, amongst other things, a good selection of books on natural history subjects. It is open from 10a.m. to 5.00p.m. in the summer . Tickets for the Reserve can also be purchased here.The Reserve is open seven days a week. There is a beach cafe open in the summer months.<br><br><br>The Nature Reserve is an exceptional site for rare birds and large numbers of migrating waders. Avocet, bittern and common tern are amongst the birds nesting. Wildfowl winter on the reserve in large numbers including Brent geese, wigeon, pintail, teal, mallard and shoveler. Bearded tits are numerous throughout the year.
