Inside the property

This comfortable family-owned home, built in the 1960s, is a mid-terrace property in a quiet residential area, a two-minute stroll from the harbour.

Downstairs has a light and spacious open plan sitting/dining room with comfortable leather seating and a working open fire. There is a digital flat screen LCD television with built-in DVD & separate PlayStation 2. The kitchen has a cooker with induction hob, a microwave and fridge.

Upstairs has three bedrooms. The family bathroom has a bath and electric shower, heated towel rail and fan heater. The master, double bedroom, has a king size bed, the bunk-room sleeps two (ideal for children) and the third bedroom is a comfortable single with fitted wardrobe.

In addition to the open fire, the house has electric night store heaters, with booster convectors in the living room and main bedroom. Electricity, duvets and pillows are included in the rental price. Please bring your own linens and towels.

Outside and garden

The back door leads into a securely enclosed garden, perfect for soaking up the afternoon sunshine or cooking an evening barbecue. Beyond the back gate is the private car parking area, which is also suitable (at owner’s own risk) for unsecured small boat storage.

Surrounding area

No.12 The Close boasts an enviable location. It is peaceful, yet little more than a pebble’s throw from the hustle of the pretty, working harbour. Bistro pubs, tennis courts, supermarket, shops, fish shed (selling fish landed at the harbor), cafe and garage are all within walking distance.

The Jolly Sailors pub (recommended in the Good Beer Guide) is within easy walking distance, as is the award-winning gastro-pub, The White Horse. The Ship at Brancaster, owned by the ‘Flying Kiwi’ celebrity chef, is a mile away.

The sandy beaches at nearby Brancaster, Thornham and Holkham stretch for miles and the popular market town of Burnham Market is a short drive or bus ride away, with its speciality shops and renowned Hoste Arms Hotel. For those not wishing to drive, the Coastal ‘Hopper’ Bus service stops in the village.

There are famous spots for bird watching, too, at Scolt Head Island (National Trust) Titchwell (RSPB) and Holme next the Sea. Hunstanton with the Sea Life Centre, is nearby, and golfers can try for their own birdies at the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club links course by Brancaster beach.

In short, this is a fantastic location for an affordable comfortable holiday with family and friends.
